Donald Trump Calls For Immediate Removal Of Homeless People In Washington, D.C.

Sunday, President Donald Trump let folks in Washington, D.C., know exactly where he stands — and it’s not with the homeless. In a post that’s got people heated, he flat-out said they need to pack it up and move out.

This push for the removal of homeless people in D.C. comes despite stats showing the city’s crime rates are actually dropping. But Trump’s in full “law-and-order” mode, and he’s not holding back.

Trump’s Message Was Clear: Get Out of the Capital

“The Homeless have to move out, IMMEDIATELY. We will give you places to stay, but FAR from the Capital,” Trump posted on Truth Social. No sugar-coating, no soft language — just straight to the point. He’s been leaning heavy into his tough-on-crime talk lately, especially after a former member of the Department of Government Efficiency was attacked during a botched carjacking.

Trump added, “It’s all going to happen very fast, just like the Border. We went from millions pouring in, to ZERO in the last few months. This will be easier — Be prepared!” He closed it with an even harder line: “There will be no ‘MR. NICE GUY.’ We want our Capital BACK.”

Executive Order Sparks Debate

Back on July 24, Trump signed an executive order making it easier for cities to relocate homeless populations — a move that drew immediate backlash from advocates and housing rights groups. His latest post just doubled down on that message, signaling that he’s laser-focused on pushing this agenda in D.C.

But here’s the kicker — according to the Justice Department, violent crime in D.C. actually hit a 30-year low in 2024. Homicides, robberies, and armed carjackings all dropped. That’s a stark contrast to Trump’s “crime is out of control” narrative.

Press Conference and “Clean-Up” Plans

Trump says he’s holding a media availability Monday at 10 a.m. from the White House to talk more about crime in D.C. He teased that the remarks will cover “Cleanliness and the General Physical Renovation and Condition of our once beautiful and well-maintained Capital.”

Last week, the White House also announced a seven-day initiative to curb crime in the city, putting more federal law enforcement on the streets. Whether that’s connected to Trump’s latest remarks or not, the timing definitely raises eyebrows.
