This Friday, Cardi B finally dropped her new single, “Imaginary Playerz,” giving fans a real taste of what’s coming on her highly anticipated album, Am I The Drama?
Now Bardi didn’t just release the track and call it a day — the record, produced by DJ SwanQo, Sean Island, and OctaneThisThatGas, also came with a full visual directed by Cardi herself alongside Patience Foster.
The music video serves looks for days — including some of Cardi’s most glamorous moments from Paris Fashion Week. And in true Cardi B fashion, she’s seen slaying and popping her ish, rightfully so. Naturally, the track has been trending online, with real rap fans praising this side of Bardi.

Jay-Z Gives Cardi the Stamp of Approval
Not only is this release exciting for fans, but it’s also a major moment for Cardi herself. The track flips Jay-Z’s legendary “Imaginary Players” from his 1997 album In My Lifetime, Vol. 1 — and Hov himself gave her the official green light.
Before the drop, Cardi revealed on X Spaces that she made sure to get Jay’s blessing:
“If he didn’t approve it, I probably wouldn’t even feel a certain type of way neither, because it’s like, ‘OK, maybe I just had to come a little bit harder,’” she said. “But I’m glad that I came hard and he loved it.”
Album “Am I The Drama?” Drops September 19
Am I The Drama? will be Cardi B’s second studio album, and it’s set to drop September 19, 2025. With this first single already making noise, fans are hyped to see what other heat she’s bringing to the table.
