CBS pulled the plug on Stephen Colbert’s “The Late Show” for financial reasons.
It’s hard to square losing $40 million a year on one show. That’s not the only reason “The Late Show” is on borrowed time, as are other late-night programs.
They don’t speak truth to power while ignoring jokes that stare them in the face. Consider President Joe Biden’s dementia-like condition. In most cases it’s cruel to mock an old man suffering cognitive decline.
It’s different if said leader claims he’s fit as a fiddle. Add an entire administration and political party saying, “nothing to see here, move along,” and it’s darn near criminal not to bring the subject up.
It’s why political satire matters.
Yet Team Late Night looked the other way as President Biden fumbled his way through his single term. That is, until a presidential debate left little room for doubt. President Biden is not well.
Now, “The Daily Show’s” Charlamagne tha God is bringing up an elderly president who suffers from dementia.
Except it’s not Biden. It’s President Donald Trump.
The segment began by detailing an investigation into President Biden’s autopen scandal. Was he aware of who got last-minute pardons in his final White House days?
It’s a real, and frighening situation. Tha God quickly swept it under the satirical rug. Of course he did.
He says we all knew Biden was old. That’s technically true but not the point. We were told any suggestion that he wasn’t sharp enough to be the Commander in Chief was a “cheap fake.”
And Tha God knows it. As Adam Carolla would say, “Stupid or Liar?”
The popular radio show host pivoted to President Trump, according to Newsbusters, saying he has obvious signs of dementia. How do we know?
He pulled out a checklist of dementia symptoms and said Trump meets every one.
Yes, a world leader who never stops talking with have a flub or two. The segment equates Biden with Trump, and it’s beyond embarrassing.
As “Fox Across America” host Jimmy Failla always says, we’re living in the death of shame.

More rock-solid proof provided by the far-Left show? Trump dances like an 79-year-old man to “YMCA.”

The most telling example of Trump’s dementia, according to “The Daily Show?” He’s often in an agitated state.
The show then played several clips where Trump, in a calm, level voice, insults people. Leaders. Journalists. It’s what he’s been doing for decades.
Agitation usually involves shouting, physical gestures or other signs indicating distress. The President shows none of those symptoms.
Literally nothing to see here.
A smug Tha God finishes with this quip.
“Well, the bad news is Trump has rage issues. The good news is, there’s no way he’s remembering the nuclear codes, okay. Now that’s my whole checklist, and I’ve reached my diagnosis: this guy needs to be put into a retirement home immediately, okay? And hopefully it’s one run by Andrew Cuomo, alright.
The irony? The media and late-night pundits praised then-Gov. Cuomo as a brave leader during the pandemic. Those who resisted the Legacy Media lies knew Cuomo behaved very badly during the COVID-19 nightmare.
And he has the body count to prove it.
Yet now, when Cuomo can’t even rally Big Apple voters to choose him over a Democratic Socialist for Mayor, does Tha God see fit to attack him.
Late-Night TV is on life support. It’s key players keep tugging the cord out of the electical socket.
