Imyounik isn’t just stepping into the spotlight — she’s kicking down the door, mic in hand, and letting out a howl that demands to be heard. With her newest release, “Raised By Wolves,” the rising star serves a bold, unorthodox anthem that’s dripping in confidence and unpredictability. This track isn’t just a vibe — it’s a warning shot. And if you don’t know her name yet, you will soon.
Imyounik started making music at just 10 years old. “I saw it on TV and said, ‘That’s what I want to do,’” she shares. From there, it was nonstop grind mode. “Every day after that, I tried to make myself good at it. Until this day. But I’ve gotten better.”
Her sound is exactly what her name suggests — unique. A potent blend of Hip-Hop, Rap, and Pop laced with clever bars and infectious melodies, it’s a sound that’s hard to box in. And that’s just how she likes it. “I love everyone. Everyone has something special about them,” she says, shouting out Kanye West as a key influence. “When it comes to me making my sound, I think listening to my favorite artists rubs off on me.”
But don’t get too comfortable trying to figure her out — she’s not staying in one lane. Her current project is dropping piece by piece over the year, and she promises it’s anything but predictable. “You should expect good music, growth, and relatability. But expect the unexpected,” she teases.
And that unexpected energy shines through on “Raised By Wolves.” The track snarls with club-ready production and raw power, anchored by a wolf howl that sets the tone. “I heard in the beat someone trying to holler at me because I get hollered at a lot and came up with no we can’t be friends cause I’m a wolf.’” she laughs. “Meaning I’m dangerous. Imyounik is a badass rapper and entertainer. That’s how it reflects me.”
She’s no stranger to using real life as inspiration, either. “City on Fire,” another standout track, was sparked by her love for Los Angeles and the devastating wildfires that struck shortly after she returned to Dallas. “I love LA so much that I felt affected. So I made a song about it.”
Her storytelling extends to visuals, too. The music video for “Amen” clocked over a million views on VEVO and hit MTV. “I tried to physically act out every line that I rapped in that song,” she explains. “It took multiple tries and days to really complete that video. It was a lot.”
With features in outlets like Notion, Galore Magazine, and LA Weekly, the industry is starting to take notice. “It’s exciting. I’ve gotten emails from viewers. It’s just giving me a little bit of respect, that’s all. It’s shining some light on me. Which is actually what I need.”
As for what’s next? Imyounik is chasing evolution, not trends. “Looking ahead, my sound will probably be indescribable,” she says. “But you can expect more singing.”
With a voice that can’t be tamed and a vision that won’t be boxed in, Imyounik is proving that when you’re Raised By Wolves, you don’t follow the pack — you lead it.
