Socialites, let us take a moment to extend our heartfelt condolences to Eminem and his family following the sad news of his mother, Debbie Nelson’s passing, as reported by TMZ.
Debbie reportedly passed away last night in St. Joseph, Missouri, after a tough battle with lung cancer. Her death comes just four months after a source informed InTouch Weekly that she was “terminally ill.”
“There are not many options [for Debbie],” the source was quoted as saying back in September. “She is currently staying between the cancer center and with family members. She has a very limited amount of time [left].”

More on Eminem’s Relationship with His Mother:
Their relationship has been tumultuous over the years. Despite Eminem publicly accusing her of being neglectful and abusive in his songs, which led to her defamation lawsuit against him and subsequently a tell-all memoir in 2007 titled, “My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem,” the two seemed to have reconciled after Debbie was diagnosed with breast cancer around 2010.
However, the source noted that while Eminem provided financial support to his mother, they had not communicated with her or any other family members residing in Missouri in recent years.
“People around her aren’t even sure if Eminem is even aware of what is happening to his mother,” the source explained. “He’s good to his mom. He makes sure he takes care of her, but they don’t really talk,” the source added back in September.
Eminem has yet to release a statement regarding his mother’s passing. In the meantime, tributes have been pouring in on his social media pages, with many sending prayers and their deepest condolences.
Debbie Nelson was just 69 years old.
