Charlamagne tha God and Whoopi Goldberg Get Into Heated Debate Over Biden Pardoning His Son Hunter

Charlamagne Tha God went head-to-head with Whoopi Goldberg on “The View” this past Wednesday, debating President Biden’s move to pardon his son right before leaving the White House.

During the debate Charlamagne reacted to people to giving Biden a hard time for breaking his promise on pardoning his son. “Democrats stand on this moral high ground all the time, and, you know, they act so self-righteous. The reality is, he didn’t have to say anything in regard to whether or not his son wanted to be pardoned.” He continued, “He could have said, ‘Hey, man, I’m not focused on that right now.’ But since they were calling Trump a threat to democracy and saying nobody is above the law, but they were speaking about him, that’s what they were running on, so when he kept saying things like… ‘Nobody is above the law, I respect the jury’s decision, in regards to my son.’ He didn’t believe that. But he didn’t have to volunteer that lie to begin with.”

The co-hosts of “The View” rallied behind the president, with Goldberg leading the charge. She made it clear that she believes the president didn’t mislead anyone and emphasized that he probably did it because other people aren’t following the rules. “I think he changed his mind because he got sick of watching everybody else get over,” Goldberg said back to the radio host. “At some point you get to the place where you just go, ‘So I’m just going to follow the straight and narrow always,’ because that’s what’s expected of Democrats.”

Charlamagne wasn’t having it and shot back, saying, “That’s their fault,” pointing out that they put themselves on this moral pedestal by always claiming that no one is above the law. Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin chimed in, reminding everyone that the Democrats built their platform on the idea of respecting institutions.

She added that Biden highlighted how the Justice Department’s investigation felt more like a political attack, essentially calling out his own administration for being politicized.

On Tuesday, Goldberg fired back at Biden’s critics, arguing that it’s a major issue for Democrats to be calling him out like that.

After some heated back-and-forth on the topic, Charlamagne jumped in and asked, “Why can’t you say when Democrats are wrong?”

He also questioned why Republicans can’t just admit when their own party is in the wrong. Goldberg responded, assuring him that she would definitely speak up when she thinks Democrats are off base, as he pressed on.

“So you don’t think Joe Biden was wrong?” Charlamagne asked.

Goldberg and co-host Sunny Hostin both chimed in, expressing that they didn’t believe the president did anything wrong with his actions.

“Well that’s ridiculous,” Charlamagne said before Goldberg added, “you’re ridiculous.”

The two commentators eventually came together for a hug before the discussion could escalate further, and Charlamagne wrapped it up by stating that he didn’t believe either side had the moral high ground.
