Welp, veteran sports reporter and host Michelle Beadle found herself sitting in the hot seat during Friday’s episode of her show, “Run It Back,” on FanDuel TV. While breaking down the Denver Nuggets, Beadle accidentally dropped a word that made everyone do a double-take.
While recapping with NBA analysts Lou Williams and Chandler Parsons, Beadle was trying to get into the nitty-gritty about the Nuggets. However, instead of smoothly transitioning, she slipped up and referred to the team with an unintentionally inappropriate term. “Michael Porter Jr. recently said — aw I don’t like this — that if the [n-word], the Nuggets don’t win this,” she said, almost instantly realizing the gravity of what just came out of her mouth.
The room went silent for a split second, and you could almost hear the collective gasp. Beadle immediately looked toward her co-hosts, trying to recover from the blunder. “Don’t try to get me on that,” she quipped, attempting to steer the conversation back on track.
Lou Williams, in pure disbelief, put his head down on the desk like he just witnessed a foul play in the fourth quarter. “I’m buying. Beadle gonna be in trouble today,” he said with a little smirk. Beadle shot back, “That’s not fair!” trying to defend herself. “That’s not even a thing, it’s not even a word,” she insisted, clearly flustered.

Williams, ever the supportive friend, assured her, “You coming in the club, I got you. Ain’t nobody gonna say nothing.” What a homie! It was evident that Beadle deeply regretted the verbal misstep and was trying to play it cool, but you could see the surprise on her face as she realized what had just happened.
In the world of live sports commentary, slip-ups happen, but this one certainly caught everyone off guard.
Beadle’s moment might have been cringe-worthy, but her quick banter with Williams and Parsons turned an awkward situation into a relatable slice of life in the fast-paced world of sports reporting.
