Dj Mustard Labels Drake As The ‘Malcolm X Of White People’ In Rant Over Album Sales

Dj Mustard recently went on a rant about Drake in response to his latest album, Faith of a Mustard Seed.

The West Coast producer and DJ called out Drake and DJ Akademiks, holding them responsible for the way fans focus on album sales. Mustard, who produced Kendrick Lamar’s hit single and diss track aimed at Drake called “Not Like Us,” seemingly felt targeted by Drake’s fans. After boasting about his album’s projected first-week sales, Mustard was ridiculed in responses from Drake’s supporters. He accused Drake’s fans of using automated accounts to mock him.

“Album sales are a form of white supremacy. You n****s racist,” Mustard said in a post on X. In his rant, Mustard continued to attack Drake by labeling him as “the Malcolm X of white people.” He also targeted Akademiks and DJ/producer Gordo, challenging Akademiks to disclose Gordo’s first-week sales.

Drake is featured on two tracks, “Sideways” and “Healing,” on Gordo’s latest album Diamante. Despite Mustard’s ongoing feud, Gordo mentioned in an interview with People that Drake has been in higher spirits since his feud with Kendrick Lamar.

Mustard’s recent frustrations could be related to the intimate nature of his latest album. He openly stated that FAITH OF A MUSTARD SEED was his most personal project to date. He even chose to rap on the outro, aiming to infuse more of his own story into the music than ever before. “I started feeling like the records were becoming more soulful-leaning,” he shared with XXL. “It just kind of reminded me of like, me being a kid and different parts of Los Angeles.” Given his remarks, it’s safe to assume that he wasn’t a fan of DIAMANTE.
