Billy Ray Cyrus made some shocking remarks about his former spouses Tish Cyrus and Firerose Cyrus in recently leaked audio clips and text messages that were obtained by Page Six on Wednesday.
In one of the audio recordings of Billy Ray that the news outlet obtained, he could be heard arguing with Firerose, 35, about running late and calls her an “idiot” during the heated conversation. “Get the f–k out of here,” he says. “I’m in no place to go do a show. I had to go when I was ready to go.” Billy Ray then tells his estranged wife, “If you would’ve just shut the f–k up. … If you would’ve just left it the f–k alone. … Now I’m really f–king pissed.”

After the footage made rounds on social media, Cyrus spoke out about the incident on his Instagram story with a lengthy message. “Hell yeah I was at my wit’s end. As every day went by, I started realizing something was wrong. And that’s before I knew she was a fraud. I just knew something wasn’t right. That was before I knew she was David Hodges ex-wife. That’s before I knew her parents last name. I had no idea she was arrested for felony residential burglary. I saw before my very own eyes, everything I thought I knew about her, was a lie. She was trying to take over my career, my life and usurp the Cyrus name for own gain. See you in court.”
As we previously reported, in under a year from their October 2023 wedding, the 62-year-old country star initiated divorce proceedings from the singer, known as Johanna Rose Hodges, in Nashville on May 22, according to PEOPLE.

According to the court records, the divorce is based on irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital behavior. Additionally, Cyrus is pursuing an annulment citing fraud as the reason.
Having been friends for years, the two musicians started collaborating on music during the COVID-19 pandemic. Their relationship evolved into dating in 2022, leading to an engagement later that year and culminating in their marriage in October 2023.
“10/10/23 will always be the beautiful, joyous day that our two souls united as one in holy matrimony,” they shared in a joint Instagram post at the time. “It was the most perfect, ethereal celebration of love we could have ever imagined.”
The duo has unveiled four joint tracks so far: “New Day,” “Time,” “Plans,” and “After the Storm.” In a conversation with PEOPLE following the release of the latter song in March, they discussed how its message of hope struck a chord with them. Cyrus praised “After the Storm” as a potent and relevant piece.
