Lenny Kravitz is doing what’s best for him! In a recent interview with The Guardian, the rockstar and sex icon unveiled a surprising aspect of his personal life that has been kept under wraps for the past nine years – his celibacy streak.
While speaking with the outlet, Kravitz reflected on his decision to remain celibate until he finds the right partner. “It’s a spiritual thing,” Kravitz said about keeping his promise to himself.
Despite his previous marriage to actress Lisa Bonet and the passing years, Kravitz is committed to personal growth. When asked about his current outlook on relationships and if he would even like to be in one again, he candidly stated, “I have become very set in my ways, in the way I live.”
Delving into his past, Kravitz revealed a poignant moment from his memoir where he confronted his father about infidelity. Of course, Kravitz was devastated by his father’s actions towards his mother and shockingly replied with words that weren’t so comforting. Instead, his father told him that he’d end up doing the same thing…
“He became right,” Kravitz admitted. “After the marriage, I became more like him. I was becoming a player. I didn’t like it. I didn’t want to be that guy. So I had to tackle that and it took years.” So how did he tackle it? “By taking responsibility. Discipline. Not letting my own desires take over.”

As he entered his sixth decade this past Sunday m, Kravitz reflects on the factors that have contributed to his well-being and success.
“I can barely believe it myself. But it’s beautiful,” he said, referring to his recent birthday. As for his hood looks and health, he credits “a combination of genes, self-care, hard work and discipline.”
