The Oklahoma City Public Transportation Department released a video on Wednesday showing the assault on an EMBARK bus driver.
The incident occurred on Saturday near the intersection of N Western Avenue and West Britton Road. Tihron Harrison, 23, was apprehended by the police after allegedly striking the driver multiple times and forcibly removing him from the driver’s seat while the bus was in motion. Another view captured a passenger attempting to intervene in the assault as the driver was thrown to the ground. Shortly after, the bus was seen swerving off the road and crashing into a business. Fortunately, the bus driver was saved from being ejected through the windshield by wearing a seat belt.

“Obviously (the driver) had some bumps and bruises. We got him to medical facilities right after and he’s off work now but doing well,” Jason Ferbrache said from the OKC Director of Public Transportation and Parking Department.
Ferbrache mentioned that the driver diligently adhered to the city’s policies in an effort to ensure the safety of everyone on board.
“When you run into a situation like that, no matter how much training you have, it’s very difficult to prepare for somebody really assaulting you while you’re operating a vehicle in motion,” said Ferbrache.
