One thing about Beyonce, she’s going to keep making history! In another exciting music update, the megastar has secured the top spot on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart with her latest project, “Act II: Cowboy Carter,” making her the first Black woman to accomplish this feat. That’s right! Despite Beyoncé’s own declaration that the album is not strictly country, the charts have spoken, recognizing her impact on the genre.

This milestone adds to Beyoncé’s impressive track record, as “Act II: Cowboy Carter” also claims the No. 1 position on the Billboard 200 Albums chart, marking her eighth chart-topping album. Earlier this year, Beyoncé made waves by reaching the summit of Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart with the debut single “Texas Hold ‘Em” from the album.

Not stopping there, “Cowboy Carter” has also achieved success on Billboard’s Americana/Folk Albums and Top Album Sales charts, solidifying Beyoncé’s versatility and broad appeal across different music genres.

The announcement of “Cowboy Carter” came as a surprise during a Super Bowl commercial, where Beyoncé unveiled the album and released the singles “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages.” The immediate impact was felt as “Texas Hold ‘Em” quickly rose to the top of the Hot Country Songs chart, marking another historic moment for Beyoncé as the first Black woman to achieve this milestone.

Reflecting on the creation of “Cowboy Carter,” Beyoncé shared her journey in a heartfelt Instagram post, revealing that the album had been in the works for over five years. She expressed how a past experience of feeling unwelcome inspired her to delve deeper into the history of country music, leading to the rich and diverse sound captured in the album.

“It feels good to see how music can unite so many people around the world, while also amplifying the voices of some of the people who have dedicated so much of their lives educating on our musical history,” she said in her post. “The criticisms I faced when I first entered this genre forced me to propel past the limitations that were put on me. Act ii is a result of challenging myself and taking my time to bend and blend genres together to create this body of work.”

In a recent interview, Beyoncé’s also dubbed her new album “the best music I’ve ever made.”

Beyoncé’s historic achievement not only highlights her musical prowess but also underscores the importance of diversity and inclusion in the music industry.
