Tristan Thompson has been ordered to pay Maralee Nichols nearly $58,000 in back child support following missed payments, as revealed in court documents obtained by The Sun. The NBA star, 33, and Nichols, 32, share a 2-year-old son named Theo, born in December 2021.

As previously reported, the legal proceedings come after Nichols sued Thompson for child support just before Theo’s birth, a claim initially denied by Thompson until a paternity test confirmed otherwise.

Thompson’s past relationship with Nichols came to light while he was dating Khloé Kardashian, with whom he shares daughter True and son Tatum. Thompson also has a 7-year-old son named Prince, with ex Jordan Craig. Kardashian was unaware of Thompson’s involvement with Nichols until their breakup in fall 2021, which occurred around the time Nichols requested support following Theo’s birth.

After many denials from Thompson, he eventually released a public statement, Thompson admitting to gathering another r child. He said at the time, “Today, paternity test results reveal that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols. I take full responsibility for my actions. Now that paternity has been established I look forward to amicably raising our son… I sincerely apologize to everyone I’ve hurt or disappointed throughout this ordeal both publicly and privately.”

He also issued an apology to Kardashian, 39, for his repeated scandals and public embarrassment, saying: “Khloe, you don’t deserve this. You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you. You don’t deserve the way I’ve treated you over the years. My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you. I have the utmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think. Again I am so incredibly sorry.”

Despite the legal developments in his case, Thompson has been reportedly providing child support to Nichols retroactively, as confirmed by his attorney in a statement to Us Weekly in August 2022. However, per the suit, all hasn’t been paid.

Additionally, Thompson has taken on guardianship of his 18-year-old brother Amari, who has epilepsy, following their mother’s passing in January 2023. During a period of construction issues, Thompson and Amari temporarily lived with Kardashian, True, and their son Tatum, born in July 2022.

Despite coparenting with Thompson, Kardashian has made it clear that she and Thompson are NOT romantically involved and has no interest in pursuing that kind of relationship with him.
