A south Florida teacher is being accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student.
The Hollywood Police Department (HPD) announced Wednesday that 39-year-old Felicia Smith was taken into custody but has since been released. According to Local 10 News, Smith told a detective she had a “maternal relationship” with a student at Driftwood Middle School, the school she worked at. The student who is between 12 and 16 years old also spoke with investigators and told them that she was forced to inappropriately touch Smith and was kissed by her. The kiss left a mark on the victim’s cheeks and neck, the report stated.
The victim also told investigators the inappropriate behavior occurred at least three separate times. An HPD detective said during an interview, Smith admitted to kissing the victim on the cheek while on school grounds but denied the other claims.
