Once again, Ye is using his huge platform to send a clear message to ex-wife Kim Kardashian.
In a recent social media outburst, Ye (formally known as Kanye West) called on his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, to remove their children from what he deems a “fake school for celebrities.” The rapper took to Instagram to express his concerns about Sierra Canyon School, where their four kids currently attend.
West’s all-caps plea to Kardashian read, “Kim take my kids out of Sierra Canyon now it’s a fake school for celebrities that are used by ‘the system.'” He further elaborated on his distrust of the institution, suggesting that it is part of a larger system that he believes has negatively impacted his own family dynamics. “At this point everybody knows what ‘the system’ is code word for •• I was removed from my dad by the system and the system removed me from my children When the system drafts athletes they avoid working with those who have their father in their life because they are harder to manipulate My two oldest know they daddy is.”
The former couple, who finalized their divorce in 2021, have been embroiled in disagreements over their children’s upbringing. Despite sharing custody, Ye has been vocal about his desire for a more active role in their education and upbringing.
Sierra Canyon School has been the primary educational institution for North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm, but Ye had previously attempted to establish his own school, Donda Academy, named after his late mother. While the academy has since closed, West remains adamant about his preference for his children’s education.
The public plea comes amidst a series of controversial statements and actions from Ye, which have reportedly strained his relationship with Kardashian and raised concerns about the children’s well-being. Kardashian has taken steps to ensure the safety of her children in light of Ye’s public outbursts.
Ye’s insistence on removing the children from Sierra Canyon and enrolling them in a school of his choosing reflects his ongoing efforts to exert influence over their upbringing.
Of course, this is not the first time Ye has publicly slammed his ex who has their kids 80% of the time. In 2022, he posted a text conversation with Kim where he told her, “Y’all don’t have [say] so over my black children and where they go to school. It’s not up to Calabasas or Hulu where my kids go to school. I’m not the crazy one here. It’s up. I won’t stop until I have a say so on my kids no matter what it legally takes.”
As the public watches the drama unfold, it remains to be seen how Kardashian will respond to West’s latest demands regarding their children’s education. Typically she ignores Ye but fans may get to see how she handles this situation possibly in the upcoming season of their reality show.
