#Socialites, get into this: Rapper Snoop Dogg has recently expressed a complete shift in his opinion about former President Donald Trump .
After years of staunch criticism, the rap icon now claims to have “nothing but love and respect” for Mr. Trump. This unexpected change of heart came to light during an interview with London’s The Sunday Times, where Snoop Dogg gave Trump some credit for pardoning Michael “Harry-O” Harris, a former associate of Suge Knight.
While speaking to the news outlet, Snoop said was asked about his thoughts on the GOP front-runner in the upcoming 2024 presidential election. “Donald Trump?” Snoop Dogg said. “He ain’t done nothing wrong to me. He has done only great things for me. He pardoned Michael Harris.” He added, “I have nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump,” per the outlet. Snoop Dogg’s previous stance on Donald Trump was far from complimentary. In a 2016 interview with Rolling Stone, he famously expressed his disbelief at having someone as “reckless” as Trump running the country.
The rapper’s disapproval continued in 2018 when he heavily criticized both Trump and fellow rapper Kanye West, who openly supported the former president. He said at the time, “I don’t give a f—. I tell ’em straight up, motherf—er. If you like that n—a, you motherf—in’ racist,” Snoop Dogg said in an interview with DJ Suss One on SiriusXM. “F— you and f— him. Now what?”
Furthermore, Snoop Dogg’s disdain for Trump was evident in his controversial stunts, such as sharing an EP cover on social media depicting him standing over Trump’s lifeless body.
Additionally, during a visit to the White House in 2018, he smoked a blunt outside the building, further showcasing his opposition.

The turning point in Snoop Dogg’s perception of Trump came with the former president’s pardon of Michael Harris, a co-founder of Death Row Records, the record label that played a significant role in launching Snoop Dogg’s career. Harris had been convicted of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and had served 30 years of a 25-year-to-life sentence before Trump granted him clemency in 2021. This act of mercy seemed to have a profound impact on Snoop Dogg, leading him to reconsider his opinion of the former president.

He said, “He a Gemini like me — his birthday two days after my s–t,” Black added of his similarity to the 77-year-old fellow Florida resident. “And that boy, like, he be vibin’ out here too.”
