Rapper Takeoff’s Dad Reportedly Intervenes In $1M Wrongful Death Lawsuit Amidst Reports of Estate Feud

The aftermath of rapper Takeoff’s tragic death has taken an unexpected and complicated turn as his father, Kenneth Ball, has reportedly now intervened in a $1 million wrongful death lawsuit against the Houston venue where his son was fatally shot.

The lawsuit, filed by Takeoff’s mother, Titania Davenport, alleges that the venue failed to provide adequate security measures. While reports suggest a dispute over Takeoff’s estate between Ball and Davenport, both parents are united in seeking justice for their son, AllHipHop exclusively reports.

Titania Davenport’s lawsuit against 810 Billiards & Bowling in Houston claims that the venue was aware of the private party Takeoff attended but failed to implement proper security measures. However, Kenneth Ball, who was not initially named in the lawsuit, has now entered as an “Intervenor.” This legal term refers to a third party who joins an existing case. Ball’s decision to intervene stems from the personal impact his son’s death had on him.

“[Kenneth Ball], the natural parent of [Takeoff], has suffered substantial pecuniary loss both in the past and in the future. Indeed, [Ball] has suffered past and future pecuniary loss, including funeral and burial expenses, psychological and psychiatric expenses, loss of advice, loss of counsel, loss of services, loss of care, loss of maintenance and loss of support,” Ball’s Houston-based lawyer Brant J. Stogner explained according to the new outlet.

Both Davenport and Ball are seeking at least $1 million from the venue. It is worth noting that Takeoff died without a will, leaving behind an estate valued at a minimum of $26 million. Despite reports of a dispute over the estate between Ball and Davenport, both parents assert that the venue neglected to implement adequate safety measures, leading to their son’s tragic death.

The lawsuits highlight at least 18 instances where the venue failed to protect its patrons, including Takeoff and other public figures in attendance.

However, the owners of 810 Billiards & Bowling have vehemently denied any responsibility for Takeoff’s death. Their defense primarily focuses on the actions of Patrick Xavier Clark and Cameron Joshua, who were implicated in the shooting.

The venue’s legal representatives argue that these individuals acted independently, thereby absolving the venue of liability in the rapper’s death. Clark, charged with murder, was arrested on December 2, 2022, while Cameron Joshua, known as “Lil Cam 5th,” was arrested on charges related to firearm possession.

As the legal battle unfolds, it remains to be seen how the court will determine the venue’s liability and the ultimate resolution of the estate feud.
