ICYMI: On Sunday night, shortly after leaving the Biden-Harris 2024 headquarters, President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden found themselves nearly involved in a collision. The incident took place at an intersection near the entrance of the campaign headquarters.

As President Biden was responding to a reporter’s question, a silver sedan with Delaware license plates struck one of the motorcade SUVs that was protecting the president’s convoy. Fortunately, the collision did not result in any injuries to the Bidens or their security personnel.

Television footage captured the swift response from the Secret Service agents who were escorting President Biden. They immediately rushed to secure the area and ensure the safety of the president. The silver sedan, which suffered damage to its bumper, was quickly surrounded by security officers. The driver of the vehicle was apprehended, with agents pointing their weapons at him as a precautionary measure. The driver cooperated and raised his hands, allowing the agents to take control of the situation.

President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden escaped unharmed after a car collided with a motorcade SUV that was part of the president’s security detail. events surrounding the incident.

Following the incident, President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden were safely escorted back to their home in Wilmington. Despite the unexpected turn of events, the witness confirmed that the Bidens returned unharmed. Their safety was of utmost importance, and the security detail ensured that they reached their destination without further incident.

Secret Service spokesperson Steve Kopek confirmed yesterday’s events with CNN in a statement. “Today, at approximately 8:09 p.m., a Secret Service vehicle securing the President’s motorcade route was struck by another vehicle in Wilmington, DE.  There was no protective interest associated with this event and the President’s motorcade departed without incident.”

Further details about the driver have not yet been shared.

Thankfully, this was not a super serious situation. However, Biden and other prominent Democrats have faced several serious safety concerns this year. As previously reported, in August, an Utah man threatened to assassinate Biden on the day he visited the state. He shot and killed by FBI agents just hours before Biden’s plane landed in Utah for a scheduled trip.

Earlier this year, an attacker broke into the home of Nancy and Paul Pelosi, reportedly searching for the former Speaker of the House. The suspect brutally attacked her husband with a hammer, leaving him with skull fractures that required surgery to repair.

This latest collision between a car and a motorcade security vehicle involving President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden highlights the constant vigilance and dedication of the Secret Service in protecting the nation’s leaders.
