Ray J’s mother Sonja Norwood is currently recovering after a scary incident that recently happened at her home.

According to TMZ, Sonja had just wrapped up a home IV drip when she instantly began feeling light-headed. Typically, the treatment which is meant to deliver vitamins directly into the bloodstream, usually makes people feel better right after. However, for Mrs. Sonja Norwood, she actually felt worse.

It was said that she had to lie down as she started experiencing rapid breathing. From there, her family members including Ray J believed it was best to quickly call an ambulance. She was reportedly rushed to the hospital where she received further treatment by doctors. Thankfully, she got better and turned out to be ok.

Pros And Cons Of IV Therapy

IV therapy drip treatment, also known as intravenous therapy, is a medical procedure that involves the administration of fluids, vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients directly into the bloodstream through an IV drip. This treatment has gained popularity in recent years due to its potential benefits and convenience. However, like any medical procedure, it also has its pros and cons.

One of the major advantages of IV therapy drip treatment is its ability to deliver nutrients directly into the bloodstream. This allows for faster absorption and utilization by the body compared to oral supplementation. It can be particularly beneficial for individuals with nutrient deficiencies or those who have difficulty absorbing nutrients through their digestive system. IV therapy drip treatment is also known for its potential to provide quick hydration and replenish electrolytes in cases of dehydration or electrolyte imbalances. It can be a valuable tool in certain situations such as after intense physical activity or during illness when oral intake may not be sufficient.

However, it’s important to consider some potential drawbacks of IV therapy drip treatment as well. One significant disadvantage is the risk of complications associated with IV administration such as infection at the insertion site or allergic reactions to the substances being infused. These risks can be minimized by ensuring proper sterilization techniques and using high-quality ingredients. Another consideration is cost-effectiveness. IV therapy drip treatments tend to be more expensive compared to traditional oral supplements due to factors like specialized equipment, medical supervision, and individualized formulations. Therefore, it may not be financially feasible for everyone on a regular basis.

Mrs. Sonja Norwood isn’t the only celebrity to have a bad reaction to this treatment. As the news site notes, reality star Kendall Jenner was also hospitalized following a bad reaction to an IV vitamin drip back in 2018 but quickly recovered as well.
