Leave it up to Keith Lee to give a very honest review of some of the most popular restaurants. While it has helped some places find great success, it has helped other restaurants realize there’s a lot of room for improvement.
The viral food critic traveled to Atlanta and made a few stops at some well-known food spots. One of those places included Kandi Burruss’ Old Lady Gang restaurant.
Now, Lee usually orders his food anonymously and typically eats it outside the restaurant to give an authentic review. He then rates the restaurant and its service on a scale of 1-10. However, this time things went a little different. In a late Sunday TikTok post, he said, “Yesterday me and my family were at the One Music Festival. Somebody who worked with Kandi Burruss walked up to us and said they’ve been trying to reach us since we got to Atlanta. He said he’s been constantly emailing me, and constantly DM’ing me for me to come to Old Lady Gang.” He went on to say, “As you can see I don’t have any bags in my hands.”
Me and my family showed up and we attempted to order before we got here. We called the number they had connected on Yelp three times…no answer. We tried to order through DoorDash, but it said it was temporarily closed. When we pulled up I sent my family in to order for us. They said on the weekends due to being busy they don’t do any takeout at all.”

Lee showed video footage of the severs explaining that to his family. Lee said the goal was for his family to grab the food, come back so they could all eat in the car so staff could have no idea that he was there.
“My family asked how long the wait was to be seated. They said an hour to an hour and a half. She also said they didn’t have any reservations so they didn’t take down any number, any contact information, nothing. My family then came and relayed that message to me and I decided to go in myself.”
Lee continues explaining, “We walked in and we were greeted by a nice young lady. And then I met some amazing people who were eating there and we took some pictures. (God is amazing). As soon as me and my wife were done taking pictures, the lady said the table was ready. As always I don’t want any special treatment, I want to be treated like everyone else. I pay for my food like everyone else. I’m a normal person. Things like this is exactly why I do reviews the way I do.”
He continued, “Just because I have a certain amount of followers on social media don’t make me different from nobody. My mom, my momma-in-law, and my sisters are all paying customers just like me. So I want them to be treated just like me.”
In a jump clip, Lee then shows the moment he asks how long is the wait time. The server tells him “I’m getting your table setup right now so about 5 minutes. Nobody on the waitlist I called came so… now it’s whoever first come first serve.” Lee said, “Again, my family just attempted to eat there less than 2 minutes ago. I then told her o changed my mind and we will go eat somewhere else. I said God Bless you and I walked out.”
Before ending his video, Lee went on to admit that he is very frustrated but even feeling that way he does not want folks to start leaving zero-star reviews just solely based on his review. He highly encouraged them to still try the restaurant out for themselves.
