The former Raiders star, Henry Ruggs has been sentenced to 3-10 years in Prison for the fatal DUI crash that killed a woman and her dog in Las Vegas.
As we previously reported, the former wide receiver was speeding down a road in the city at up to 156mph when he smashed his Chevrolet Corvette Stingray into the back of 23-year-old Tina Tintor’s SUV in November 2021 which caused her car to be engulfed in flames. Tintor was trapped inside of vehicle with her golden retriever pet and died from injuries caused by the fire and the crash. Ruggs pleaded guilty to the charges back in May. Initially he was facing 50 years in prison before he took a plea deal.

While being sentenced today, Ruggs took the time to apologize to Tintor’s family saying there was “no excuse” for his actions. “To the parents and family of Ms Tintor, I sincerely apologize for the pain and suffering my actions the morning of November 2, 2021 have caused you, your family and those who knew Ms Tina and Max,” he said. “I let my family, my teammates and those who believed in me down with my actions and hurt so many.”
In my authorities released body cam footage of the aftermath from the crash. As officers arrived to the scene, Tintor’s car was on fire, and Ruggs’ was totaled. A man walked up to the officers and said, “I know somebody’s probably in there,” referring to Tintor’s burning vehicle, “But this is Henry Ruggs right here.” An officer told the man to calm down, but he continued to explain what happened. “He plays for the Raiders. He needs help ASAP,” the man said.
Ruggs was seen on footage standing outside of his car when all of this was going down. You can also hear explosions from the victim’s car in the video. Once the investigation took place, police revealed that Ruggs was driving 156 miles per hour seconds before the collision. As we previously reported, Ruggs was drinking at Top Golf before the deadly crash.
Henry Ruggs III was drafted by the Las Vegas Raiders as the 12th overall pick in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He entered the league as a highly touted wide receiver prospect known for his incredible speed, agility, and deep-threat ability.
In his rookie season with the Raiders in 2020, Ruggs played in 13 games. He showed flashes of his potential as a dynamic playmaker but faced some injury setbacks during the season. Ruggs finished his rookie year with 26 receptions for 452 yards and 2 touchdowns.
