According to several reports, the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) has launched an investigation after Delta Flight 1437 was forced to evacuate on the tarmac at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Wednesday (August 2) around 6:20 P.M. EST. The flight, carrying a total 190 passengers, was coming from Richmond, Virginia.
The cause for the emergency evacuation is being blamed on the plane’s tires blowing out and bursting upon touching down on the ground. An audio recording capturing the communication between the pilot and air-traffic control was shared by Fox 5 Atlanta. Listeners can hear the pilot saying, “It sounds like we blew a tire, 1437, is that correct?” A controller confirms, “Yes sir, we did see smoke and fire coming off one of your tires.” The controller then reassures that emergency vehicles are on the way.
