After comedian and actor Jess Hilarious got into a heated debate with transgender TV personality and LGBTQIA+ activist TS Madison over periods and transphobia, social media commentator Paradise Paris went viral for defending Jess.
As a refresher, things all began with a resurfaced video from transgender TikToker Blessing Rose, claiming biological (or cisgender women) “do not own periods nor womanhood.” Firing back at the TikToker’s claims, Jess demanded to know who was going to defend biological women when a transgender woman was making claims about them not owning womanhood.
Believing that Jess’ delivery appeared to come off a bit transphobic, TS Madison hopped into the conversation with a tweet about “transphobia affecting ALL women,” and further sending subliminal shots at Jess, suggesting some biological women, like her, get mistaken for men. She soon confirmed the sub was about Jess as she uploaded a receipt of the comedian admitting to being mistaken for a male.

All of the back-and-forth on periods and transphobia led to several other social media influencers, celebrities and LGBTQIA+ activists jumping into the mix; including ‘Pose‘ star Angelica Ross, whose comments then awoke Flame Monroe, who defended Jess and also dragged Angelica.
Elsewhere, social media commentator Paradise Paris also went viral for her stance in the debate. Speaking out on Jess’ behalf, Paris uploaded a video with text overlaying that read, ‘Trans Women Are Women‘

Speaking on the periods and transphobia conversation, Paris began, “In my opinion, I think the most misogynistic thing that a man can do is reject his biology as a man and go into women-dominated spaces, telling other women how he’s a better woman than them, because it’s based off of his feelings of how he perceives a woman to be, while walking in society emulating what he believes a woman looks like by replicating other women.”
Paris added, “When we’re discussing women, I cannot go to another woman and ask her what it feels like to be a woman, because being a woman is not a feeling. However, being a woman, I absolutely am subjected to my reproductive organs that identify me as a woman. And saying that doesn’t mean that I’m less than a woman, it just means that that is the beginning of my woman origin and my woman experience. And for the women that can’t have a baby, we still recognize those women as women because they do have the reproductive organs to do so. However, we also understand that something is medically wrong with them.”

Paradise Paris also acknowledged that “non-binary people or trans men, actually, can also have a period, but at the basis of it, we call those biological women. However, when you’re talking about trans women, we understand that that is something biologically impossible. You cannot do.”
After her initial video went viral, Paris came back with a second post, titled ‘Trans Women Are Women Pt. 2.’ In the second video, Paris doubled down on her stance of biological women indeed owning periods and womanhood, based off of “autonomy and anatomy.” She also confirmed that she is indeed educated with terms in the LGBTQIA+ community and is in no way attempting to oppress another marginalized group of people.
Paris affirmed, “To crystalize it for you, if women had the power of oppressing trans women, trans women would not be integrated into women-dominated sports, nor would trans women be considered ‘Woman of the Year.’ However, we know that’s not true.”
