Irish music legend, Sinead O’Connor who is known for her hit song ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’ has passed away at the age of 56.
According to TMZ, details surrounding her death haven’t been revealed yet. In the last few years, Sinead was hit with tragic news after the death of her 17-year-old son Shane who passed away by suicide in January 2022.
After his death, Sinéad released a statement saying, “My beautiful son, Nevi’im Nesta Ali Shane O’Connor, the very light of my life, decided to end his earthly struggle today and is now with God. May he rest in peace and may no one follow his example. My baby. I love you so much. Please be at peace.”

O’Connor’s breakthrough came with the release of her second album, “I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got” in 1990. The album’s lead single, “Nothing Compares 2 U,” written by Prince, became a massive worldwide hit and remains one of her most iconic songs to this day. The song’s hauntingly emotional music video, featuring O’Connor’s close-up face, further propelled her fame.
