The lawsuit was filed early Thursday, beginning with discussing Hutchinson and Miller’s wedding day on April 28. “Unbeknownst to Sam, Aric, and their wedding party, Jamie Komoroski, and the other Defendants were creating a different kind of day – one that would set in motion a course of events ultimately transforming a fairytale love story into a fateful night of unspeakable tragedy,” the suit reads.

It claimed Komoroski had a “booze-filled day” and noted her blood alcohol content was 0.261, three times the legal limit. According to CBS News, she is facing charges of reckless vehicular homicide and three counts of driving under the influence to cause death. She allegedly started drinking at a bar and restaurant near Daniel Island, then traveled to Folly Island, where she continued drinking at three other bars and restaurants.

Hutchinson’s suit has blamed the bars for serving Komoroski as she was visibly intoxicated and allowing her to consume “additional and excessive amounts of alcohol.” It also stated that the bars allowed her to leave their establishments while she was dangerously intoxicated, and she drove in the wrong direction when she thought she was heading home after the drunk-filled night.

Investigators said she drove 65 miles per hour when her car crashed into Hutchinson, Miller, and two others. The two other victims were Benjamin Garrett and Hutchinson’s nephew, B.G.-who is listed as a minor in the lawsuit. Hutchinson said in the suit that his bride cried in pain and suffered moments after the deadly incident.

“A direct and proximate result of the negligent, grossly negligent, reckless, willful, and wanton acts and omissions of these Defendants, in combination or to the exclusion of each other, Samantha Miller experienced conscious physical pain and suffering, conscious mental anguish and conscious emotional distress prior to her death,”

The suit is seeking damages in addition to funeral and burial expenses. However, this will be determined later, and Hutchinson requests a jury trial.

He is also speaking with Good Morning America in an exclusive interview to share his story for the first time since the incident.“She was so happy. I mean, planning a wedding, as most people know, is extremely stressful. And she just had a weird, like, calmness that night,” he said to the outlet.
