According to reports, on Tuesday (May 2), students at the Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire Elementary School were on a field trip to the Mont-Bellevue Park in Sherbrooke, Quebec. However, the fun all came to a screeching halt when a couple of students stumbled upon a body in a wooded area of the park.
Additional reports say that officials with the Sherbrooke Police Service (SPS) confirmed that an investigation has since been launched. However, they have declined to provide any further details on the body found and any other identifying details.

Following the scary incident, officials at the Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire Elementary School sent out an email to concerned parents and guardians about their students’ unintentional discovery at Mont-Belleveue Park.
In the letter issued, the school’s principal, Brigitte Leclerc, wrote, “Despite these unfortunate circumstances, the day went off without a hitch for most of the students at the school.”

The Canadian principal added that upon returning to school grounds, a team of specialized speakers would be brought in to support the teaching staff and to provide additional support to the students in the group that were affected. Parents and guardians were also advised to keep a close eye on their students over the next few days themselves.
The school’s principal added, “Rest assured that we have the well-being of your children at heart and that we are making every effort to ensure the necessary support for the students at the school.”
Aside from Mont-Belleveue Park being caught up in headlines over a grade school students discovering a dead boy in a wooded area, the park is pretty popular with locals.
It is noted that Mont-Belleveue Park not only covers over 200 hectares, but it is one of the largest urban parks sitting within the nation of Canada.
With so much space, park visitors are able to participate in a variety of recreational activities, including hiking, biking, skiing, snowshoeing, and much more.
Mont-Bellevue Park is also home to a number of natural features, including forests, hills, and streams. Visitors can enjoy scenic views of the surrounding landscape from the park’s lookout points and observation towers. The park is also home to several wildlife species, including deer, foxes, and birds.
In addition to its natural attractions, Mont-Bellevue Park also features several amenities for visitors, including picnic areas, playgrounds, and sports facilities.
