White House Reveals President Joe Biden had Cancerous Skin Lesion Removed From Chest: ‘No Further Treatment Is Required’

There have been tons of questions regarding President Joe Biden’s health as many people believe it’s been declining. However, the White House is providing everyone with an update following his recent physical.

On Friday, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, the White House doctor who has served as Biden’s longtime physician, shared that a skin lesion was removed from Biden’s chest last month. He explained that it was a basal cell carcinoma — a common form of skin cancer, and added that no further treatment was required.

“As expected, the biopsy confirmed that the small lesion was basal cell carcinoma. All cancerous tissue was successfully removed The area around the biopsy site was treated presumptively with electrodesiccation and curettage at the time of biopsy. No further treatment is required,” Biden’s doctor wrote in a memo Friday, over two weeks since Biden’s routine health evaluation. Ultimately, Biden, 80, was deemed by O’Connor to be “ healthy, vigorous” and “fit ”

To note, Biden has had several non-melanoma skin cancers removed in the past, before he became president.

More On First Lady’s Health

Back in January, Mr Biden’s wife, First Lady Jill Biden, had not one but three lesions removed, with two of them later testing positive for basal cell carcinoma. Surgeons successfully removed all cancerous tissue from a small lesion above first lady Jill Biden’s right eye and one on the left side of her chest.

Dr. Kevin O’Connor explained at the time,
“Basal cell carcinoma lesions do not tend to ‘spread’ or metastasize, as some more serious skin cancers such as melanoma or squamous cell carcinoma are known to do,” he wrote. “They do, however, have the potential to increase in size, resulting in a more significant issue as well as increased challenges for surgical removal.”

He added at the time, “The first lady is experiencing some facial swelling and bruising, but is in good spirits and is feeling well.”
