After the nearly four hour interview went up on the respective platforms yesterday (Sunday, October 16), loads of backlash came pouring in from the controversial remarks made by Ye.

While there were many soundbytes that went viral and struck the nerves of different communities, the comments about George Floyd — the Black man who was killed by a white cop who kept his knee on his neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds — went super viral and spawned the most criticism.

Ye’s comments saw reactions from: Stephen Jackson and Van Lathan, BoosieBlocBoyJB, and many more. But most importantly, the family of George Floyd spoke out via their attorney, Lee Merritt.

According to Merritt, the family is looking to file a lawsuit against Ye. While they cannot sue him for defamation, as you cannot defame the dead, they are possibly looking at libelous litigation, or something akin to it.

Following all of the criticism, ‘Drink Champs’ co-founder and host N.O.R.E. went on an apology tour earlier this morning (Monday, October 17), but to no avail as the powers that be went ahead and pulled the episode after all of the intense backlash.

Prior to the interview removal, Noreaga told ‘The Breakfast Club,’ “I support freedom of speech. I support anybody not being censored but I do not support anybody being hurt. I did not realize that the George Floyd statements on my show were so hurtful.”

He also said, Ye allegedly told his producers before the show that if he was interrupted or couldn’t get his way he would walk out. N.O.R.E. didn’t want a “Birdman moment” so he let Ye do Ye.

Meanwhile, Noreaga’s apology tour spawned criticism from music industry executive Wack 100.

Having heard the follow-up, Wack got on his Instagram and told the rapper-turned-podcaster not to bend and fold under the pressure, but to remain as solid as he was before and during the Ye interview. He even calls out N.O.R.E. for backtracking, but not taking down the interview. He says, “You still reaping the benefits of the views.”

Hours after Noreaga’s apologies, Ye’s close friend and collaborative partner Consequence shared a text from the rapper-turned-podcaster that said the interview would be coming down. And so it did. YouTube & Revolt pulled the episode from both of their platforms.
