Akon has finally admitted that he used his brother as his body double when he would get overbooked for shows! The rumors have been floating around for quite some time now, but the rapper is finally speaking his truth.
During an interview with The Morning Hustle show last week, Akon explained everything his brother would do for him. “He would do shows for me. I can say it now because its been some years. Sometimes I would be double booked and I would send Abou (his brother) to one radio show while I’m doing another radio show.”

Akon also went on to explain a story about how one time his brother got pulled over while he was acting as him and a police officer let him go because he knew his hit song “locked up.”

Akon wanted it to be know that all of this took place before people were crazy about the internet. “This was before internet,” he reassured listeners, who surely would have been able to tell in today’s social media-centric climate whether the Akon they were watching was the real thing. “If you saw ‘Bu in one place and you saw me, you couldn’t tell the difference.”
Akon and his brother do look alike but some social media users are thinking otherwise and are confused on how people were fooled.
