Oop! ‘The Late Late Show’ James Corden Banned From Popular NYC Restaurant For ‘Abusive’ Behavior Towards Owner’s Staff

A New York restauranteur says he has banned talk show host James Corden from one of his restaurants after having allegedly verbally abused his staff on two separate occasions. Keith McNally, who owns SoHo-based restaurant Balthazar, provided examples of the chaotic encounters with Corden, who he described as a “tiny Cretin of a man.”

The most recent incident occurred on October 9, when the 44-year-old was said to have gotten upset because his wife’s egg yolk omelet was served with a “little bit” of egg white. The staff apologized and rushed to make a new egg yolk omelet in the kitchen, but sent it to his table with fries instead of the salad his wife had requested, which allegedly sent Corden into a wild outburst.

“That’s when James Corden began yelling like crazy to the server. You can’t do your job! You can’t do your job! Maybe I should go into the kitchen and cook the omelette myself!” The floor manager was able to smooth things out by offering Corden promo Champagne glasses, but McNally says that wasn’t the first time this year that things turned heated with the TV personality.

In another report mentioned in his Instagram post, Corden was once again dining at McNally’s restaurant when he had complained about finding a piece of hair in his food — a claim he only raised after finishing up his main course. The manager acted in a quick manner by apologizing for the mishap, but Corden insisted they got him “another round of drinks this second” otherwise he would leave a bad review on Yelp.

Back in April, Corden announced that he will be leaving “The Late Late Show” on CBS in 2023 after eight years of hosting the popular talk show. “It’s been a really hard decision to leave because I’m so immensely proud of the show,” he told the studio audience. “I’m thrilled to be extending [for a year]. I always thought I’d do it for five years and then leave and then I stayed on.”

Corden is reportedly planning on returning to the UK to jumpstart a string of projects and also be closer to his family again, many of whom remained back home while he settled into his new life in Los Angeles.
