Jennifer Aniston appears to be one of the latest celebrities to throw their support against the anti-Semitic comment Kanye West made over the weekend by liking an Instagram post from her former “Friends” co-star David Schwimmer. The actor, who isn’t all that active on social media, was sure to make his voice heard when he took to the social media platform to share his thoughts about West’s recent remark aimed at Jewish people.
Schwimmer, who is Jewish, shared a post that simply read “bye,” along with a caption where he branded West as “divisive and ignorant” for his comments. “Anti-semitism is on the rise globally,” he wrote. “Jews make up only 2.4% of the population of the United States but are the victims of more than 60% of all religious hate crimes.”

“Whether or not Kanye West is mentally ill, there’s no question he is a bigot. His hate speech calls for violence against Jews. If you interpret his words any other way and defend him, guess what? You are racist.” Earlier this week, West’s personal trainer, Harley Pasternak, said he, too, was cutting ties with the rapper for his insensitive words against the Jewish community, saying he won’t speak to his ex-client until he publicly apologizes.
Schwimmer attracted over 300,000 likes with his IG post, showing clear signs that people were in support of his message — and as mentioned, Aniston was one of those people, indicating that she was firmly supporting the actor and his stance on the situation.
Sarah Silverman and Jamie Lee Curtis were two of the other celebrities who came forward and denounced West for taking aim at Jewish people, with Curtis having appeared on the TODAY show on Monday, recounting how she “burst into tears” after reading the controversial tweet.

“‘DEFCON 3 on Jewish people?’ What are you doing?” she asked. “I mean, it’s bad enough that fascism is on the rise around the world. But on Twitter, on a portal, to pour that in? As if Jewish people haven’t had it hard enough?”
West’s tweet over the weekend had read, “I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE. The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jew also You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda.”
